That is my concern for a set of principles I like (my opinion)
I like to own my things.
I compare Wix with WordPress.
What you do in Wix works only in Wix.
If the company tomorrow disappears, also your site will disappear.
If tomorrow Wix update their policy and your site does not fulfil that new policy, you should rebuild all in another site.
The community of WordPress is larger on magnitude than Wix. But too much larger. Then it will be easier to get programmers, plugins, features in WordPress than in Wix.
What you do in WordPress you can get and run locally or in any server that runs PHP. You are the owner and you can have PHP modifications on the site you built using WordPress.
If you don’t want to continue with your hosting provider, you get your site and go away to another hosting provider without having to rebuild your site.
There are many more plugins and themes on WordPress than Wix
For example: If you want a budget calculator or anything not so common it is easier to find on WordPress, or to contact someone who does.
The main advantage of Wix is that you don’t need almost experience. Then if you not having knowledge want to build your site Today, you can begin it with Wix… and when your business grows… plan to build from scratch a similar site using WordPress later.
You can install WordPress in almost any server and there is a big big big larger community. Wix is easier to work with for basic and common things. If you like things in your own way, WordPress it’s better.
